Refused Are Fucking Undead
Refused, the band who would never get back together in a million years, is doing just that “one last time.”
We never did “The shape of punk to come” justice back when it came out, too tangled up in petty internal bickering to really focus on the job. And suddenly there’s this possibility to do it like it was intended. We wanna do it over, do it right. For the people who’ve kept the music alive through the years, but also for our own sakes.
We feel that you deserve it and we hope the feeling is mutual.
See you in the pit.
//Refused
I’ve never been on a plane but this is a huge enough even that I might just go see Refused.
The Bled - The Last American Cowboy
I’ve had this song stuck in my head for a week, so here you go. The lead guitar part of the chorus is so messed up but so right.
Animals as Leaders’ Weightless. Go Buy it.
The followup to one of the best albums I’ve ever heard is out now. Animals as Leaders is the instrumental prog brainchild of Tosin Abasi, the former guitarist for hardcore band, Reflux. He plays an 8-string guitar and puts all of those strings to good use. Each song is a wall of sound on par with a religious experience.
Third Eye Blind - If There Ever Was A Time
Here’s another song written just for the Occupy Wall Street Movement. You can download it for free on Third Eye Blind’s facebook.
Our Lady Peace - Fight the Good Fight
Our Lady Peace wrote this song in support of the Occupy Wall Street Movement. You can download it for free here.
Flogging Molly – Revolution
I came across this very well done music video, featuring some working class gentlemen in a heated poker game against a “greedy CEO and his goons.” I love Flogging Molly in general, and this song is a timely anthem for the Occupy Wall Street movement.
It’s also amazing because one of the lines is:
The penguins in the suits, they know nothing but greed.
Penguins. Nope, doesn’t get any better.
Rise Against – Satellite
Rise Against released this video for Satellite last week. (Sorry this is late—internet issues.) The video is a vivid illustration of their summer tour. Rise Against fans are amazing and incredibly dedicated. This video does a great job of capturing their enthusiasm and spirit. It also shows the band members during their down time between shows. It’s an interesting juxtaposition to see the band on stage like a force of nature, commanding a crowd of faithful fans, and then to see them as their down-to-earth selves, eating lunch and buying guitars.
I was at one of the shows on this tour, and my life is better for it.
Dead to Me – The Hand With Inherited Rings
I looked this song up after I saw The Flatliners tweet “Holy shit this is good.” Good bands tend to like other good bands. Check it out.
Bluegrass Cover of Snoop Dog – Gin and Juice
I don’t know if anyone is really keeping track, but I’m willing to guess that this is one of the most covered songs of all time. This is the first bluegrass version I’ve come across. Enjoy.
The Flatliners - …And the World Files for Chapter 11
I think this song would make a great protest song for Occupy Wall Street.
“We only! We only take what we need! If only! If only they could just see! These flames are burning green and the world will end tonight!”
Fake Punk Band Couldn’t Wait for Steve Jobs to Die
Corporate faux-punk/mall-core/pop-punk band Green Day shows shares their manufactured anti-corporate views by talking shit on a dude smarter than them and the entire crowd they’re preforming in front of combined. So punk.

Roach Gigz - “Gina”
All you need to be a legitimate e-rapper these days is a catchy hook and a well produced video featuring hiply dressed attractive people. The main verse is total ass, but the hook is just so retardedly clever that I had to share.

Rise Against – Little Boxes
This is an amazing cover of the 60’s folk song made popular by Pete Seeger.
New Song from New Found Glory
New Found Glory premiered “I’m Not The One” on KROQ Today. This is an early taste of what we can expect from their upcoming album Radiosurgery. By the way, “Radiosurgery” is an awesome album title.
